Friday morning. In 48 hours I’ll be at the airport.
Leaving Madison was rough in certain ways. Good friends with PFMPers. Good friends with IAPers. Friendships that just started. Weddings I’ll miss. And of course, missing 112 #2 – the food, the balconies, the wine, and mostly, the roommate.
But, Madison is now behind me. For six months, at least. So now I can focus on family and friends in MN and WI. Except that my brother has mono and tonsillitis – so I’m keeping away from him. Just imagine, I get to Switzerland, infected, and then infect the 27 children I’ll be working with.
As a reminder – my plan for the next six months.
This summer, I’ll be back with TASIS, teaching for a new summer language program in Château d’Œx. One Chalet. Seven Staff. 27 Middle Schoolers.
Once that is over, I’ll have two weeks off in Paris. I’ve been missing France, so getting back will be great.
Then, in the fall, I’ll be in Fribourg, working as a researcher/intern at the university there. Still figuring out what it is I’ll be doing, but I’ll be working in the Center for Multilingualism, the French as a Foreign Language Department, and liaising some with the International Relations Office.
Time to watch my final episode of The View for six months.
