Paris

I was surprised by the sensation of returning to Paris. It has been 4 years since I've been back to France, and nearly 7 years since I moved to Paris for the first time. But just like an old friend, I was able to pick up where we left off. The sights, the sounds, the smells... It seemed as though at nearly every corner, a memory came back.

Hélas, too many memories to share here, but a couple pictures...

France has unemployment troubles. Even the toilets are out of work.

But when business centers have names like this, who can really be surprised...

Place de la Concorde

l'Elysée (and I must admit when I walked the Champs Elysée, I smiled thinking of CDMSP)

Les Invalides

Musée Rodin - with one of my favorite gardens in Paris

Le Louvre - although I didn't go inside, walking by it was enough to bring back memories of art history classes there every Friday

Paris Plage - au bord de la Seine

Canal Saint-Martin

Le Cimetière du Père-Lachaise

The following four pictures are from le Parc des Buttes-Chaumont.
I love walking around here because it is unapologetically ostentatious.

I couldn't not go here. It is full of great memories of my family, too.

Speaking of my family...

I also had to frequent former Sweet Briar haunts. It's not the same without certain people.

My favorite spot in Paris - voire, le monde.

This is a great backdrop to have for a sandwich and Coca-Light.

Katie came to visit and we found sculptures to play with.

But we were hungry.

And then I showed her my favorite Paris-by-night landmark.

We took many pictures.

Vincent, the Parisian host with the most.

Carl and Joseph reunite in Paris.

Along with Marine.

And a Denison reunion.

Friday Foster

I'll get the French hooked on line-dancing one of these days.

Badger reunion. We only went to McDonald's together twice.

Badger bisou.
