Rockin' Interlaken

Wednesday was a great day. I got up early and headed to Interlaken where I met up with my friend Sandie. The two of us worked together at Château d'Oex this summer. TASIS has two sessions for its summer programs, so after her stay in Château d'Oex, Sandie headed to Lugano to work with MSP during the second session. MSP is where I had my start with TASIS. She finished up the second session and has a week to explore Switzerland a bit more before heading back to Quebec.

It was great to meet up with her. I'm slowly starting to know people here in Fribourg, but it was nice to get together with a friend. We met up, had lunch. Then, we took a hike à la TASIS (we took the funicular up and then hiked down). We got up to the top of Harder Kulm and soaked in the view. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so we could only see the bases of the mountains. The supposed peaks (which I can neither confirm nor deny their existence) were covered by the clouds. Even so, it was beautiful. After about two hours of hiking, we reached the city and walked around. Had a couple drinks and dinner before I headed back to Fribourg.

The inside of a Swiss train.

By the river that connects Interlaken's two lakes.
So here, I am literally inter laken.

Joseph and Sandie.
Behind us note the obscured peaks of the mountains.

The slide. I really didn't go all that fast.

Mid-hike.

The trail.

Looking down towards the city.

For a minute, I thought I was in Hollywood.
Then realized the sign says Interlaken.

Interlaken.

I can sleep better knowing that Switzerland has Hooters.
