EAIE in Antwerp

The EAIE conference itself was held in Antwerp - the whole reason for going to Belgium. I found that Antwerp, like Brussels, had a certain gritty feel that I, at times, liked, but that at other times, just felt dirty.

The old city is completely charming. Although I didn't make it inside, the outside of the cathedral is stunning day and night. One night, along with the Study Abroad and Foreign Student Advisors professional group, I ate at a restaurant that had an up-close and personal view of the illuminated cathedral.

The University of Antwerp hosted the conference - on a charming campus and throughout the city. There were over 3000 people there, I believe. People involved in higher and international education from all over the world. Although it is a conference for Europeans, it has an international draw. I met people from France, Turkey, Hong Kong, Argentina, and even Milwaukee! Some of the sessions were great. Some were mediocre. I'd go into more detail, but I've waited long enough to put this post up - so I'm just going to post it now.
