I had seen the Rencontres de Folklore Internationales advertised, and decided that I would see if I could volunteer. I sent an email, and the next day got a reply saying that help was needed at the bar. I don't know how they could see that far into my soul, but I was more than willing to help out at the bar!
So, on Friday from 6 pm to 1 am and from Saturday from 3 pm until nearly 2 am, I poured wine, beer, Coke, Rivella, and more. There were two stages at the festival, and my bar was perched facing the main stage. Some people thought it was a VIP section or something. The music and ambiance couldn't be beat. And great food from all over the world. Not that I don't like Swiss food, but it was a pleasant change to eat something spicy.
One of the first groups Friday evening was this ensemble of Alpine Horns. Not to toot my own, but I know a thing or two about Alpine Horns.
Wow. The Swiss know a thing or two about porta-potties.The directions tell you to flush before and after.
